Moab Moon Mission: Lunar Eclipse Nov 8th, 2022
Join me for a special night of adventure capturing a total lunar eclipse, also known as a blood moon! I’ll show you my planning techniques, and teach you everything you need to know to come away with beautiful photos of the eclipse. After purchasing, I’ll be sending you an email including a few other details about our trip. We will be doing the photography within Arches National Park, and entry is included in the cost. NOTE: This is on what many people would call Monday night, but technically it’s all Tuesday morning, VERY early. I will pick you up and drop you off at your place of lodging, as long as it is in Moab or Spanish Valley, otherwise we will arrange a pickup location in town.
Duration:
Approximately 8 hours, with pickup at 12:30AM (That’s EARLY Tuesday morning). We will have a time for instruction before photographing the eclipse which will last about 4 hours, then we’ll stay in the park for some sunrise photography as well, and then be back in town around 8:00am.
What’s Included:
•Transportation to and from our shooting location. I’ll pick you up from your place of lodging in Moab or Spanish Valley, or if your lodging is elsewhere we’ll arrange for meetup\pickup spot in town.
•Photography instruction and guidance in the field, including:
-Planning apps and how to use them to plan lunar eclipse and other moon photography.
-Choosing the best camera settings based on current eclipse phase and potential varying conditions.
-I’ll be sharing knowledge and tips about getting the most out of a moon shoot, and will be able to answer any questions you have along the way.
What to bring:
•DSLR or mirrorless camera with recommended lens 300mm or greater.
•Tripod
•Remote shutter recommend, but not required
Refunds & Cancellations:
Cancellations made at least 2 days (48 hours) in advance of the Moon Mission will receive a full refund, minus a 7% processing fee. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the trip will receive a 50% refund, minus a 7% processing fee.
Fortunately, we have clear skies most of the time in Moab, however in the case of a crazy storm, the trip could be canceled, in which case a full refund would be given. If we arrive at the scene and the moon is not visible due to clouds, you can join any future moon missions at no additional cost until the moon is visible. I cannot be responsible for wind, weather, rain, heat, or other unforeseen circumstances. I reserve the right to change locations, cancel, or reschedule trips due to unsafe or extreme conditions.
