I don’t consider myself a gear person, but it’s not uncommon for people to ask what camera or lens I use, so I figured I’d provide a full list of what I use. Below is my complete setup that I use 95% of the time for my moon photography. I can happily recommend all of the items listed with the exception of the tripod. While it has served me well and continues to do so, I mostly got it because I saw an incredible deal for Black Friday. There are plenty of other great tripods out there for cheaper, and anyhow it’s no longer sold as there are newer models.
Camera: Canon EOS R (Mirrorless)
Lens: Tamron 150-600 G2 for Canon
Adapter, needed for my specific lens\camera combo. There are 3rd party adapters for much cheaper out there, just search for "ef rf adapter".
Tripod: Manfrotto Carbon Fiber (no longer sold)
Tripod Head: Neewer Gimbal
Remote Shutter. Used to reduce camera shake.
